I'm actually hoping to get the Echo at some point soon. I got to try one out in user testing before they launched it and it seems like a better pen in many ways. But I'm a little concerned about this scratching sound. I don't get it on my old 1GB pen. Have you tried using the headphones to record?

I just got the Echo 4GB and have been showing it around the office You're right; it's a real attention getter and people go ga-ga when I first show them how it plays back the audio on a specific note I have taken. The only thing I am not impressed with is the fact that the audio records the scratching of the pen on the paper. I played the sample notecast you posted and wonder: there is no sound of the pen writing! So your pen doesn't have the writing sound?
